Field Technician (Public Transit Technology)

Location: Houston, TX, United States; field assignments at customer sites across the United States. Travel to customer sites is required.

Salary: $23.00–$27.00 per hour, plus 8% bonus potential.

What you will do

• Conduct site surveys and vehicle inspections to prepare installation activities.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair onboard hardware and integrated systems on transit vehicles.
• Work with vehicle electrical systems, including power sources, fuses, converters, and related components.
• Manage field schedules, project priorities, equipment, parts, and onsite inventory.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, Operations, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.
• Document installations through field reports, photographs, technical observations, and project updates.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of technical experience, preferably with heavy-duty vehicles, electronics, or related systems.
• Experience or knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and electronic equipment.
• Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, or troubleshooting hardware systems.
• Ability to prepare technical documentation and field reports.
• Ability to work directly with customers, contractors, and multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across the United States is required.
