Location: Onsite in Alaska, United States, with travel to rural Alaskan communities for up to several days and up to 50% travel

What you will do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, inspections, and testing at company facilities across Alaska.
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, generators, batteries, UPS systems, rectifiers, fire suppression, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Support the availability of facility infrastructure and, when required, maintain or repair core network equipment.
- Monitor alarms and equipment platforms, troubleshoot issues, manage work orders, and coordinate with vendors and field technicians.
- Track corrective tickets, inventory maintenance supplies, order materials, and document maintenance activities.
- Support safety inspections, emergency exercises, seasonal grounds work, and the setup or removal of equipment and machinery.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least four years of experience in facility operations, maintenance, telecommunications, or a related field; relevant education or experience may substitute year for year.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, generators, batteries, light carpentry, AC/DC power systems, electrical wiring, and technical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, satisfactory driving record, and successful completion of Defensive Driving training.
- Ability to travel to and work in rural Alaskan communities, including in harsh Arctic weather and by small aircraft.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency after-hours coverage; DOT medical certification and drug testing may be required.
Nice to have
- Associate degree in electronics or a related mechanical, HVAC, electrical, vocational, or military technical field.
- Specialization in HVAC, AC/DC power systems, generators, and remote telecommunications facilities.
- Telecommunications experience and relevant industry or job-specific certifications.
