Senior Frontend Engineer (React / TypeScript) (Fintech)

Location: Munich, Germany; opportunity to work from abroad and international relocation support if required

What you will do

• Build and maintain client-facing web applications with React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Design GraphQL schemas, queries, mutations, and fragments, and contribute to federated GraphQL services.
• Develop shared frontend components and reusable, accessible UI patterns.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Design, Data, and backend teams on scalable software solutions.
• Write secure, testable, maintainable code with strong attention to privacy, accessibility, performance, and operational reliability.
• Improve architecture, testing, observability, and developer experience while mentoring peers and shaping technical direction as appropriate.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong production experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, and modern frontend architecture.
• Experience building responsive web applications with accessibility, performance, authentication, and server-side rendering.
• Good understanding of GraphQL, including schemas, queries, mutations, integrations, and federated architectures.
• Experience with frontend component libraries, design systems, and automated testing.
• Professional fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining federated GraphQL services.
• Experience contributing to shared frontend component libraries or design systems.
• Experience with TypeScript-based serverless applications.
• Experience in regulated, high-security, or operationally critical environments.
