Network Engineer

Location: San Jose, California, United States; ability to travel to branch locations as required.

Salary: $133,200–$192,825 USD annually for the Bay Area California market, plus incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, configure, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewall, VPN, data center, and cloud connectivity infrastructure.
• Diagnose complex network issues, identify root causes, document solutions, and provide Level 3 support.
• Maintain network monitoring, alerting, logging, management, and response systems.
• Plan and execute WAN, internet, network upgrade, migration, and high-availability infrastructure projects.
• Define project requirements and scope, create schedules, and produce detailed network designs and documentation.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams; participate in on-call rotations and mentor junior network engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience and 7+ years working with Cisco networking hardware and software; CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking, including spanning tree, IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, QoS, VLANs, ACLs, and NAC/SDA.
• Experience with enterprise VPNs, firewalls, encryption, secure wireless networks, high-availability environments, and production data center networks.
• Experience with hybrid cloud networking and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and NetFlow.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, presentation, communication, and analytical skills; ability to travel to branch locations.

Nice to have

• SD-WAN implementation experience.
• Experience with telephony systems and standards.
• Automation and scripting experience.
