Head of Finance (Fintech)

What you will do

• Lead month-end close, group consolidation, financial statements, management reporting, board reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
• Manage the annual external audit, statutory financial statements, audit documentation, and remediation of findings.
• Own direct and indirect tax compliance, R&D tax incentive submissions, employee share scheme reporting, and obligations across group entities.
• Own APRA and ASIC regulatory reporting and monitor regulatory changes affecting finance processes.
• Build IPO-ready controls, including segregation of duties, approval points, audit trails, SOX-style documentation, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable, sales commissions, broker and aggregator payments, and finance process automation.

Requirements

• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in finance leadership, ideally in lending, banking, or financial services.
• Working knowledge of APRA and ASIC regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience with external audits, statutory reporting, Australian direct and indirect tax compliance, and SOX-style controls.
• Experience leading teams, including offshore or outsourced resources, and reporting to executive management.
• Strong process-improvement mindset with experience adopting automation or AI tools in finance operations.
