Field Service Technician (Electrician - A Grade) (Instrumentation)

Location: Perth, WA, Australia; field-based work with local and interstate travel and overnight stays.

What you will do

• Identify faults, repair, test, and modify actuators at customer sites.
• Perform planned and preventative maintenance on actuator systems.
• Complete mechanical and electrical actuator installations and retrofit adaptations involving components, pedestals, and drive shafts.
• Prepare accurate technical reports for each site visit.
• Provide responsive field service to customers in the water, power, petrochemical, and related industries.

Requirements

• Trade qualification and a WA electrician licence; EEHA endorsement is preferred but not essential.
• Alternatively, post-apprenticeship experience in a practical engineering environment, preferably in a field-based role.
• Ability to travel locally and interstate, with a full valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and use common testing and calibration tools.
• Basic understanding of electronics, electrical theory, and fluid power theory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Nice to have

• EEHA endorsement.
• Technical experience with valves, actuators, and digital control systems.
