Functional Analyst Manager

Location: Newmarket Campus, Auckland, New Zealand, with work across the City Campus as required; flexible working, including working from home, is supported depending on business needs.

Salary: NZ$145,000–NZ$160,000 per year, plus up to 6.75% company superannuation and five weeks' annual leave.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Functional Analyst practice and foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
• Partner with Product Engineering, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to define current and future capability requirements.
• Champion effective problem-solving and analysis across the product and application lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and professional development across the practice.
• Provide coaching, performance development, and workforce planning for a large analyst community.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and developing large teams of 20 or more people.
• At least three years managing sizeable functions or teams of comparable scale and complexity.
• Strong understanding of business and functional analysis across complex systems and platforms.
• Experience working in Agile environments and supporting successful product delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in large, service-based organisations or higher education environments.
