What you will do
- Lead and manage a high-performing firmware engineering team delivering robust embedded solutions.
- Set the technical direction for embedded systems using IMU, GNSS, and laser sensor technologies.
- Own the firmware lifecycle from hardware bring-up through production deployment.
- Translate complex product requirements into actionable technical plans with product managers and architects.
- Mentor engineers, handle technical escalations, and guide resolution of complex system challenges.
- Improve development standards and practices through modern CI/CD methodologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams, including recruitment and performance coaching.
- Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux, the Yocto Project, build systems, and hardware bring-up and debugging.
- Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience with Git, Jira, and formal continuous integration methodologies.
- Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand is required.
