Senior Actuation Engineer (Aerospace)

hirify.global is developing electric Seagliders, a new form of coastal transportation that combines aircraft speed with boat-like operating costs.

What you will do

• Own actuation system architecture, requirements, performance, and qualification for aerodynamic and hydrodynamic control surfaces.
• Lead actuation trade studies supporting major engineering milestones.
• Develop and maintain simulation models, assumptions, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with loads, manufacturing, controls, GNC, integration, and certification stakeholders.
• Support producibility, verification, and certification of the all-electric Seaglider actuation control system.
• Improve engineering procedures, templates, and best practices to reduce analysis bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Significant experience in electromechanical, flight-critical actuation engineering.
• Experience leading actuation system development from concept through qualification and certification.
• Experience technically managing suppliers of actuation-related materials.
• Knowledge of bandwidth, duty cycle, fatigue, stability, power, and environmental challenges, including sea-based requirements.
• Strong fundamentals in control theory, kinematics, mechanism integration, and the actuation engineering life cycle.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach in interdisciplinary teams.
