Senior GNC Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and run six-degree-of-freedom simulations for multi-stage vehicle flights.
• Implement simulation models in Software in the Loop systems and transition them to hardware environments.
• Develop validation workflows and integrate Hardware in the Loop systems to test controller performance.
• Generate and calibrate aerodynamic tables and validate aerodynamic performance through flight tests, analytical CFD, and Missile DATCOM.
• Develop electromechanical actuator models, specify sensor and mechanism requirements, and quantify error impacts on vehicle performance.
• Design control systems for roll-stabilized, pitch-controlled single-stage and multi-stage vehicle flight paths.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in GNC engineering or a similar aerospace, defense, or missile systems role.
• Experience with six-degree-of-freedom simulation tools and flight models for missile systems.
• Familiarity with CFD, Missile DATCOM, and other aerodynamic simulation tools.
• Proficiency implementing and testing Software in the Loop systems.
• Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar languages.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hardware in the Loop systems.
• Familiarity with Kalman filters, state estimation, and advanced control techniques.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and control theory.
• Hands-on experience characterizing electromechanical actuators and building actuator simulation models.
