Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Remote; San Francisco office

What you will do

• Build scalable consumer-facing applications and APIs for the podcasting platform.
• Develop backend services with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Design and optimize data storage using MongoDB, Redis, and SQL databases.
• Integrate cloud APIs, including Google Cloud and DigitalOcean.
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and load tests.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers in an agile, distributed environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with TypeScript and Node.js development.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals and computer science concepts.
• Strong knowledge of document and key-value stores, including Redis and MongoDB.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience building APIs.
• Experience building scalable consumer applications.
• Strong experience with unit, integration, and load testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-traffic, low-latency applications.
• DevOps experience and open-source contributions.
• Digital signal processing experience.
• AI experience.
