Electrical Engineer Intern (Aviation)

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida, United States; full-time onsite internship from May through August

What you will do

• Support electrical design, development, testing, integration, and troubleshooting of aviation products.
• Assist with requirements analysis, specification development, interface definition, component selection, circuit analysis, simulation, and schematic capture.
• Support circuit card assembly design, board layout, design documentation, and engineering requirements.
• Participate in laboratory testing, test-result analysis, root-cause investigations, and corrective-action documentation.
• Write or modify scripts and simple software for engineering analysis, testing, and development.
• Collaborate with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Test, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams and participate in design reviews.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least two years of undergraduate study expected before the internship begins.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles and circuit analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, technical writing, presentation, and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to work full-time onsite at the assigned hirify.global location for the internship duration.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person because the role may involve technology and information subject to U.S. export control laws.

Nice to have

• Experience or coursework in analog, digital, or power electronics; circuit card design; embedded systems; or digital signal processing.
• FPGA design, VHDL, Verilog, radio frequency, antennas, communications, modem technologies, controls, photonics, optics, or optical engineering.
• Electronic design automation tools, laboratory instrumentation, automated testing, MATLAB, Python, Linux, or Windows.
• Aerospace, aviation, regulated-industry, research, engineering competition, technical club, or relevant academic project experience.
