Lead Software Engineer, Fullstack (AI)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States; on-site

Salary: $179,400–$204,700 per year for work performed in Richmond, plus performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building solutions for regulatory and risk-management needs.
• Design and deliver distributed microservices, full-stack systems, and micro-UI architectures.
• Build robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers and partners across the company.
• Use Node, TypeScript, Angular, Java, SQL, Python, Kafka, Docker, AWS Fargate, Lambda, and relational and NoSQL databases.
• Mentor engineers, participate in technology communities, and evaluate emerging technologies and AI tooling.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience, excluding internships.
• At least 1 year of cloud computing experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with distributed systems, full-stack development, open-source frameworks, and cloud-based solutions.
• Work must be performed on-site in the United States; immigration or employment-authorization sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• 9+ years of experience with JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
• 4+ years of experience with a major cloud platform and open-source frameworks.
• People management experience, Agile experience, and experience with interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.
