Facilities Engineer II

Location: Winfield, Illinois, United States. Onsite second-shift role from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., including work every third weekend.

Salary: $30.75–$41.51 per hour.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain hospital power plant equipment, including high-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, generators, electrical switchgear, and medical air compressors.
• Perform safety checks, scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on assigned systems.
• Monitor building engineering systems and respond to emergencies, service requests, equipment issues, and unscheduled shutdown risks.
• Conduct chemical analysis of boiler, chiller, cooling tower, and closed-loop systems and maintain prescribed chemical balances.
• Assess problems, troubleshoot failures, document corrective actions, and support safe and efficient facility operations.
• Assist contractors and vendors with repairs, maintenance, and construction activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of relevant building maintenance experience.
• Technical maintenance training or HVAC/R trade school certification.
• Stationary Engineer license, or ability to obtain one within one year of hire.
• Valid driver's license and driving abstract.
• Ability to safely work with equipment, chemicals, and emergency response procedures.

Nice to have

• Hospital or military experience.
• One year of boiler maintenance training.
• Current universal refrigerant certification.
