Senior Backend Engineer (Integrations)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in the NYC office near Union Square.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 base salary per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own platform initiatives end to end, including scoping, design, implementation, delivery, and maintenance.
• Design infrastructure for integrations, including services, queues, data pipelines, and asynchronous workflows.
• Lead projects with junior and mid-level engineers through code review, design feedback, and technical guidance.
• Identify and eliminate recurring classes of problems instead of patching individual bugs.
• Set technical direction in ambiguous problem spaces and collaborate with Integrations Engineering and adjacent teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Computer Science degree or comparable practical experience.
• Experience designing and operating services that handle concurrency, failure modes, and meaningful scale.
• Experience with backend platforms and infrastructure, including services, queues, data pipelines, and asynchronous processing.
• Strong systems design skills and the ability to lead ambiguous, multi-quarter projects through business outcomes.
• AI-forward mindset and willingness to drive AI projects forward.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating third-party APIs, including authentication flows, rate limits, and external-system operations.
• Browser automation experience with Selenium, CDP, or Playwright.
• Browser fingerprinting or detection experience.
• Python expertise, fintech or comparable regulatory experience, and a track record of reducing on-call noise.
