AI Product Manager

Location: Cambridge, MA, United States; hybrid with 3 days per week in the Harvard Square office

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annually, plus quarterly bonus and meaningful equity

Proton builds an AI operating system for wholesale distribution, combining CRM, PIM, eCommerce AI, and Order & Quote Entry AI on a unified data layer.

What you will do

• Own a product domain from discovery and definition through development, launch, adoption, and revenue.
• Conduct onsite visits, shadowing sessions, and discovery calls with distributors and sales representatives.
• Run iterative development cycles with design partners and real users in the feedback loop.
• Build AI features and agentic workflows with engineering, design, and data science.
• Lead alpha and beta rollouts, drive adoption across the installed customer base, and identify adoption barriers.
• Enable sales and customer success with product positioning, proof, training, and customer-facing support.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of managing features end to end through the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with iterative agile development and adapting processes to learn quickly from customers.
• Experience deploying AI-centric features at scale alongside engineers and data scientists.
• Fluency with data models, APIs, and service boundaries when collaborating with senior engineers.
• Daily hands-on use of AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or an equivalent to ship real work.
• Strong customer-facing communication, data-driven decision-making, business judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex B2B, enterprise, ERP-adjacent, or systems-of-record software.
• Experience with agentic products and human-agent trust, correction, and handoff patterns.
• Experience with integrations and transforming messy source data into canonical models.
• Early-stage startup experience from Seed through Series B or C.
