Salary: $200,000–$240,000 annually

What you will do

  • Serve as the technical authority for integrated spacecraft systems across concept development, design, integration, verification, production, launch, and mission support.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering initiatives spanning systems engineering, mechanical design, electronics, software, controls, propulsion, structures, and thermal engineering.
  • Own architecture development, requirements management, system integration, verification, validation, qualification, and development assurance activities.
  • Establish technical standards and approve critical engineering decisions, deliverables, qualification artifacts, and development documentation.
  • Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, readiness reviews, and resolution of complex development, production, integration, test, and field issues.
  • Advise customers, program leadership, and executive management while mentoring engineers and building technical capability across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including leadership of complex aerospace, defense, propulsion, or electromechanical systems programs.
  • Extensive experience developing, integrating, testing, and deploying spacecraft, satellite, aerospace, or spaceflight systems.
  • Deep knowledge of systems engineering, spacecraft architecture, requirements management, integration, verification, validation, mission assurance, product lifecycle management, risk management, and configuration management.
  • Strong technical leadership, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if required; U.S. citizenship may be required for access to export-controlled information and certain government programs.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in aerospace, systems, electrical, or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience as a Chief Engineer, Chief Systems Engineer, Technical Fellow, Technical Director, or equivalent technical leader.
  • Expertise in spacecraft integration, satellite systems, avionics, flight controls, guidance and navigation, mission systems, propulsion, or payload integration.
  • Experience supporting spacecraft programs from concept through launch and mission operations.
  • Knowledge of NASA, DoD, commercial space, or other aerospace industry standards and requirements; active U.S. Government Security Clearance.
