Electrical Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco or San Jose, CA (4 days per week onsite)

Salary: $349,000 – $465,000

What you will do

• Own electrical design standards and reference architectures for low-voltage systems supporting high-density AI infrastructure.
• Lead design from transformer secondary through switchgear, UPS systems, and rack-level power delivery.
• Model equipment loads, GPU power behavior, transient demand, and electrical failure domains.
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and basis-of-design documents.
• Coordinate electrical requirements across mechanical systems, HPC architecture, and hardware engineering.
• Support equipment selection, factory testing, commissioning, and root-cause investigations.

Requirements

• Experience designing low-voltage electrical systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Proficiency with low-voltage distribution, UPS topologies, switchgear, and redundancy models.
• Ability to develop and review single-line diagrams and commissioning documentation.
• Experience with electrical analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or AI data centers.
• Experience delivering power to high-density GPU racks or liquid-cooled infrastructure.
• Familiarity with dynamic GPU loads, harmonics, and power-capacity optimization.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or progress toward licensure.
