Location: Remote within the United States; not eligible for hiring in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, or surrounding areas. Occasional travel may be required for project or team meetings.
Salary: $116,960–$146,200 for Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, and Washington, D.C.; $123,760–$154,700 for New York, New Jersey, Washington State, and California outside the San Francisco Bay Area; $137,520–$171,900 for the San Francisco Bay Area.

What you will do
- Develop and maintain scalable cloud-native compute infrastructure, including VM orchestration, EC2 Auto Scaling Groups, hardened AMIs, and secure container images.
- Collaborate with technical leaders, architects, and engineers to solve complex distributed computing and infrastructure management problems.
- Automate monitoring, performance management, capacity planning, and disaster response.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code standards and support legacy and new compute system components.
- Write and review design documents, runbooks, and service documentation while maintaining accurate system change records.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and use Agile methods to deliver reliable infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure, preferably with AMIs, EC2, and IAM policies or roles.
- Strong knowledge of Auto Scaling Groups and scalable cloud-native environments.
- Experience with hardened base AMIs and AL23.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or another programming language, including software architecture patterns, clean code, and debugging.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and knowledge of container-based applications or services.
- Ability to work independently with multiple global teams on development, deployment, configuration, and operation of infrastructure platforms.
Nice to have
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and continuous deployment tools such as GitHub, Buildkite, Terraform-TFC, ArgoCD, Harness, or cloud networking tools.
- Operational experience with complex distributed systems, SLOs, SLAs, high availability, and reliability tooling such as Datadog or Prometheus.
- Exposure to Falco, File Integrity Monitoring, PCI, or SOX compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes or experience with Claude AI or similar tools.
