Associate Director, Payments/Scheme Economics (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own scheme economics, including Visa and Mastercard fees, interchange, operating regulations, and network rules.
• Translate fee schedules and scheme requirements into fee tables, eligibility criteria, transaction logic, system configurations, and customer billing rules.
• Establish governance, testing, reconciliation, and controls to protect payment cost integrity and resolve anomalies or leakage.
• Build models, analytics, dashboards, and visibility into unit economics, margin drivers, and payment cost movements across markets and products.
• Identify and execute cost and margin optimization opportunities through transaction qualification, BIN routing, configuration, pricing, and product decisions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Data, Commercial teams, Visa, Mastercard, and other payment partners on complex scheme economics issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience in payments, acquiring, issuing, card networks, payment infrastructure, or related fintech roles.
• Deep knowledge of Visa and Mastercard interchange, scheme fees, transaction qualification, and network rules.
• Experience translating complex payment rules into system logic, configurations, controls, interchange tables, scheme fee logic, or BIN-based rules.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including transaction-level data analysis, economic modeling, and reconciliation of expected versus actual payment costs.
• Strong commercial judgment, attention to detail, ownership, and cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Finance, Data, Operations, and external payment partners.
