Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer (Post-Quantum Cryptography)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Develop and advise on quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies.
• Assess organizational cryptographic inventories and identify migration priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
• Provide policy and guidance inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards, including FIPS 203, 204, and 205.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) and meet government security investigation requirements.
• 10+ years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in quantum computing and cryptography; a related master's degree may substitute for up to 2 years.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, quantum information theory, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum-resistant algorithms.
• Expertise with Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, Microsoft Quantum Development Kit, classical and quantum simulation tools, and cryptographic standards such as NIST and ISO/IEC 19790.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and project management or project-oriented experience in a large corporation or government agency.

Nice to have

• IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification.
