Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer (Post-Quantum Cryptography)

Location: 100% U.S.-based remote position; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered

What you will do

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Develop quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies.
• Assess cryptographic inventories and identify migration priorities.
• Communicate quantum risks to non-technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide policy and guidance input for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards, including FIPS 203, 204, and 205.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5 years in quantum computing and cryptography within a large corporation or government agency.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms such as Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms, and quantum information theory.
• Expertise with Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, Microsoft Quantum Development Kit, and classical and quantum simulation tools.
• Expertise in post-quantum cryptography, quantum-resistant algorithms, and cryptographic standards such as NIST and ISO/IEC 19790.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a relevant master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification.
• Experience with project management, configuration management, or project-oriented work in a large corporation or government agency.
