What you will do

• Develop processes to map high-level quantum algorithms to hardware-compatible instruction sets for fault-tolerant computation.
• Evaluate tradeoffs between various quantum error correction tools and identify optimal solutions.
• Account for resource requirements, including qubit counts and runtime, for target algorithms.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to identify new research directions and automate compilation processes.
• Present research findings at internal and external events.

Requirements

• PhD in physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Proven research track record in quantum computing, including algorithms, architectures, or error correction.
• Knowledge of algorithmic techniques like quantum phase estimation and amplitude amplification.
• Familiarity with error correction techniques such as surface codes and magic state distillation.
• Proficiency in Python for research and development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present scientific work to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Expertise in quantum LDPC codes and decoders.
• Understanding of silicon-spin hardware systems.
• Experience with quantum software tools like Qiskit, PennyLane, or Qualtran.
• Experience optimizing software scripts on HPC resources or GPUs.
