Staff Scientific Computing Engineer (Quantum Computing)

What you will do

• Develop tutorials, lectures, hands-on exercises, coding examples, documentation, and self-paced training for quantum computing.
• Deliver technical onboarding, workshops, short courses, seminars, hackathons, symposia, and summer schools.
• Design curricula for biomedical and chemical applications in collaboration with quantum researchers, computational scientists, software engineers, and external partners.
• Build guides and best-practice materials for quantum algorithm development, quantum chemistry, and hybrid quantum-classical workflows.
• Maintain code repositories, example notebooks, and reproducible demonstrations across multiple quantum platforms.
• Evaluate new quantum hardware and software, support collaborative research, and contribute to grant proposals and project reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience with independent scientific analysis, scientific data management, or image data management.
• Experience in applied computational fields such as machine learning, computational modeling, scientific visualization, HPC, or distributed computing.
• Substantial programming experience, including fluency in two or more common programming languages.
• Experience analyzing and managing large scientific datasets and developing or optimizing scientific software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.

Nice to have

• PhD in physics, computer science, chemistry, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Expertise in quantum computing, quantum algorithms, quantum machine learning, quantum chemistry, or quantum simulation.
• Experience with Qiskit, CUDA-Q, Pennylane, Python, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Experience teaching computational courses or workshops, mentoring trainees, and explaining complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience with grant writing, curriculum development, scientific documentation, or community outreach.
