Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer (Post-Quantum Cryptography)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Advise on quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies.
• Assess cryptographic inventories and identify migration priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
• Provide policy and guidance inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards, including FIPS 203, 204, and 205.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.
• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5 years of quantum computing and cryptography experience in a large corporation or government agency.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, quantum information theory, post-quantum cryptography, and quantum-resistant algorithms.
• Experience with Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, Microsoft Quantum Development Kit, and classical and quantum simulation tools.
• Knowledge of cryptographic standards such as NIST and ISO/IEC 19790, plus project-oriented configuration management.

Nice to have

• IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification.
• Master’s degree in a related IT field, which may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
