Staff Software Engineer (PHP/Laravel)

Location: 100% remote; work around U.S. business hours

Prompt develops B2B healthcare software that automates operations for outpatient rehab therapy organizations, their teams, and patients.

What you will do

• Define and drive technical strategy and architecture across major product areas.
• Lead technical design, refinement, and implementation of complex, high-impact features.
• Identify and address architectural risks, technical debt, process issues, and scalability concerns.
• Mentor engineers, raise code quality standards, and contribute to code and design reviews.
• Align technical decisions across engineering and other stakeholders, and participate in product retrospectives and team ceremonies.
• Architect and organize greenfield development for new products when appropriate.

Requirements

• Meaningful experience as a senior software engineer focused on full-stack web development.
• Technical leadership experience on complex, high-impact engineering initiatives.
• Experience mentoring experienced engineers and raising engineering standards across a team.
• Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale applications where data architecture and query performance were primary concerns.
• Advanced working knowledge of PHP, Laravel, Vue, and MySQL or equivalent technologies such as Ruby, Node, React, Angular, Ember, Postgres, or MSSQL.
• This is a hands-on Staff-level individual contributor role, not an Engineering Manager position.
