Software Engineer I - Full Stack (Junior Full-Stack Developer)

Location: 100% on-site in Wentzville, Missouri, United States. Applicants must already live within reasonable commuting distance; relocation candidates will not be considered.

Salary: $45,000–$60,000 per year, based on relevant experience and demonstrated skills.

Midtown Home Improvements is a fast-growing roofing and general contracting company with more than 300 employees and five locations. The Technology Department builds proprietary software used throughout the company.

What you will do

• Build and improve features for internal business applications.
• Develop frontend interfaces with Vue and Nuxt.
• Build backend APIs and business logic with Node.js and NestJS.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Prisma, Redis, Docker, and related infrastructure.
• Fix bugs, troubleshoot production issues, and improve existing applications.
• Work with internal users and experienced developers to understand problems and deliver practical solutions.

Requirements

• Must be able to work on-site full-time in Wentzville, Missouri, and already live within reasonable commuting distance.
• Around 0–2 years of professional software development experience or equivalent experience from a coding bootcamp, computer science program, or substantial self-directed work.
• Meaningful web application development experience beyond basic tutorials.
• Fundamentals of JavaScript or TypeScript and experience with at least one modern frontend framework.
• Some backend and database experience, plus an understanding of basic Git workflows.
• Ability to debug problems, receive feedback, ask questions, and learn unfamiliar technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Angular, Express, Fastify, another SQL database, or similar transferable technologies.
• GitHub profile, portfolio, or examples of software built.
