Sr. Software Engineer Manager (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day execution, delivery, quality, operations, and continuous improvement for a software engineering and QA team.
• Manage performance, career development, feedback, hiring, retention, and technical growth for engineers and technical leads.
• Partner with Product and Design to define priorities, shape roadmaps, and deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Guide architectural decisions and design discussions across backend services, APIs, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Champion cloud-native development, observability, automated testing, reliability, scalability, and operational visibility.
• Collaborate with peer engineering managers and cross-functional stakeholders on scalable solutions, planning, Agile ceremonies, and delivery practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and delivering software, including modern web applications and distributed systems.
• 5+ years of engineering team leadership with direct people management responsibilities.
• Strong experience with cloud-native architectures, scalable services, backend and API-driven systems, REST, GraphQL, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Postgres or other relational databases, Kafka, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, and preferably AWS.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, deployment tooling, observability, monitoring, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; experience operating SaaS platforms at scale and building secure applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript-based frontend technologies and Vue.js.
• Background in healthcare technology, data platforms, or revenue cycle management.
• Experience with identity and access management, including Okta.
• Experience leading teams working with event-driven architectures and microservices.
