Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; on-site

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain cloud-native enterprise applications.
• Build backend services with Java and Spring Boot and contribute to front-end applications with Vue.js.
• Apply AI-assisted techniques to codebase analysis, development, testing, debugging, documentation, refactoring, and research.
• Evaluate AI development tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot and establish appropriate standards and guardrails.
• Diagnose complex production issues using logs, metrics, messaging systems, databases, and application behavior.
• Collaborate with architecture, development, QA, operations, and business teams while mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices.

Requirements

• On-site work in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States
• Senior-level, hands-on software engineering experience across large, polyglot codebases.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, Git/GitHub, automated unit and acceptance testing, and cloud-native application development skills.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Ability to demonstrate that AI has materially improved the engineering workflow.
• Experience with TDD, pair programming, continuous feedback, Extreme Programming, automated CI/CD pipelines, and production troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Copilot CLI.
• .NET 8+, Python, Redis, RabbitMQ, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Azure, Tanzu Application Service, or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
