Senior AI Solutions Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Arlington, Virginia, requiring at least 5 days in the office.

Salary: $135,000–$273,000 per year, with additional experience-based pay ranges of $135,000–$231,000 and $164,000–$273,000.

What you will do

• Apply AI technologies to improve productivity, decision-making, and automation across engineering and business functions.
• Research, prototype, and evaluate AI tools, frameworks, platforms, and emerging technologies.
• Design and implement AI-enabled solutions integrated with existing workflows, systems, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, compliance, program management, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver practical solutions.
• Support organizational adoption through demonstrations, guidance, knowledge sharing, and technology adoption strategies.
• Ensure AI solutions meet security, compliance, usability, reliability, and maintainability requirements in sensitive and classified environments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software or technical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Strong experience with modern AI technologies, including large language models, generative AI, and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Experience designing technical solutions, rapidly evaluating technologies, and integrating AI into real-world systems.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and collaborate across engineering, security, compliance, and business teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Naval tactical systems such as Aegis, SSDS, or SLQ-32.
• Experience with MLOps, model lifecycle management, monitoring, CI/CD, DevSecOps, or production AI deployments.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, Risk Management Framework processes, or other AI compliance frameworks.
• Experience in defense, government, or other mission-critical domains.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading change management for new technologies.
