Senior AI Solutions Engineer (Defense)

Location: On-site in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, with at least 5 days in the office

Salary: $135,000–$273,000 per year, with pay ranges varying by experience, skills, and education

What you will do

• Apply AI technologies to improve productivity, decision-making, and automation across engineering and business functions.
• Research, prototype, and evaluate AI tools, frameworks, platforms, large language models, and generative AI solutions.
• Design and implement AI-enabled solutions integrated with existing workflows, systems, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, program management, compliance, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver practical solutions.
• Ensure AI solutions meet usability, reliability, maintainability, security, and regulatory requirements in sensitive and classified environments.
• Support organizational adoption through demonstrations, guidance, knowledge sharing, and recommendations on emerging AI practices.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• On-site work at the Mount Laurel, NJ office for at least 5 days per week.
• At least 7 years of professional software or technical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience applying modern AI technologies, including large language models, generative AI tools, and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, secure software development, and AI security skills, with availability to travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of naval tactical systems such as Aegis, SSDS, or SLQ-32.
• Experience with MLOps, model lifecycle management, monitoring, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and production AI deployments.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, Risk Management Framework processes, or similar AI compliance frameworks.
• Experience in defense, government, mission-critical domains, emerging technology evaluation, or organizational change management.
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
