Senior Web Developer (Web Developer III)

Location: Seattle, Washington, US; hybrid schedule with most employees working from home three days per week and attending the office on other days.

What you will do

• Build and maintain full-stack websites, web applications, dashboards, calculators, internal tools, and other digital products.
• Create interactive data experiences using maps, charts, narrative content, and geographic, temporal, scenario, or demographic data.
• Integrate GIS and web mapping platforms such as ArcGIS Online/Portal, ArcGIS Feature Services, StoryMaps, and Mapbox.
• Develop APIs, service integrations, and data-processing workflows with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Connect products to databases, CRMs, CDPs, marketing platforms, analytics tools, and hosting environments.
• Review code and products, support accessibility and security testing, contribute reusable components, and provide informal mentorship.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional web development experience delivering production web applications or data-driven digital products independently.
• Advanced front-end experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, CSS/SASS, and frameworks or tools such as Vue, Nuxt, Astro, or Vite.
• Working to advanced Python experience with FastAPI or Django; familiarity with PHP is a plus.
• Experience with GIS or web mapping platforms, data visualization or dashboard tools, and responsive web development.
• Strong experience with Git/GitHub, Docker, VS Code or similar tools, WSL or macOS, and CI/CD workflows.
• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in public-sector, planning, transportation, GIS, or other data-intensive applications.
• Experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Tableau, Salesforce, HubSpot, or Ortto.
• WCAG accessibility certification and familiarity with sustainable or active transportation and city planning.
