Senior Full Stack Engineer (AWS/Data Systems)

Location: Hybrid remote in Columbia, Maryland, United States; working hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Occasional travel for training or project meetings may be required.

Salary: $116,700–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications that provide data flow and visibility across platforms.
• Build tools for large-scale data movement, ETL automation, data ingestion, and data mesh integration.
• Develop secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs and backend services for authentication, authorization, and distributed data access.
• Integrate enterprise and third-party data sources through scalable interfaces.
• Collaborate with engineers, DevOps, product owners, and data architects in an Agile environment.
• Improve performance, monitoring, observability, CI/CD practices, technical documentation, and deployment reliability.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Must pass U.S. Federal Government public trust clearance. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or qualify through the Foreign National Government System, including having lived in the United States for at least 3 of the previous 5 years and holding valid passport and visa or work permit documentation.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python, with experience in React, Next.js, Node.js, or Flask.
• Experience with large-scale and petabyte-level data systems, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, automated testing, and relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with AWS architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Redis, monitoring tools, Git workflows, and CI/CD platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working in Agile teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with OAuth, SAML, Okta, Active Directory, or AWS IAM.
• Knowledge of data mesh principles, domain-oriented architectures, federated data governance, and secure identity management.
• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, NATS, ETL pipelines, or data ingestion workflows.
