What you will do

• Build the Duo Client SDK as versioned, publishable TypeScript packages for editor extensions, GitLab.com Duo Chat, and external applications.
• Design the SDK’s Node.js core, public APIs, semantic versioning, changelogs, and deprecation paths.
• Extract packages from the GitLab Language Server and migrate consumers incrementally without maintaining parallel implementations.
• Develop isomorphic core packages with platform-specific behavior isolated in adapters.
• Build SDK client surfaces, including Vue 3 components for Duo Chat, in collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Improve credential handling, browser performance, bundle size, startup cost, and dependency weight while participating in Tier 2 on-call support.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency with TypeScript across frontend and backend systems, including Node.js services.
• Experience with monorepos, multi-module builds, ECMAScript modules, modern packaging tools, and dependency management.
• Experience with Vue 3 and the Composition API, or comparable component-based frontend experience with willingness to learn Vue.
• Experience designing APIs for other developers and understanding Node.js versus browser execution environments.
• Security-minded development practices, including careful credential handling and performance optimization.
• Clear technical communication, self-motivation, strong organization, and the ability to work effectively in an agile, fully remote environment.
