Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Python/Django)

Location: Berlin, Germany; candidates must be based in Berlin or willing to relocate to Berlin. Flexible hybrid work is available, but this is not a remote-from-anywhere role.

What you will do

• Own features end-to-end, from understanding requirements and solution design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production verification.
• Design and build backend services and APIs with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
• Develop reliable application and background-processing workflows using PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, and Elasticsearch.
• Implement and debug full-stack functionality with Vue 3 and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain integrations with ERP and accounting platforms, authentication providers, billing systems, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.
• Improve performance, reliability, observability, deployment safety, testing, and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience building and operating production systems with Python and Django.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, including data modelling, migrations, query performance, indexing, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with asynchronous and distributed workloads, preferably using Celery and Redis, including retries, idempotency, and failure handling.
• Experience with system design, CI/CD, deployment strategies, observability, performance, scalability, and AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
• Enough Vue and TypeScript experience to own features across the full stack and investigate frontend issues independently.
• Must currently be based in Berlin or be willing to relocate to Berlin.

Nice to have

• Experience with Django REST Framework.
• Experience with independently deployable components, safe rollouts, automated quality gates, and rollback strategies.
• Experience integrating external systems with authentication, webhooks, failure handling, and third-party API behaviour.
