Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US; office-based environment

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable services and applications across the platform stack.
• Build APIs, microservices, and modern web applications using TypeScript and Vue.
• Contribute to frontend architecture and user experience improvements for complex, data-intensive applications.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Apply AI-assisted development workflows, including large language models, agentic pipelines, prompt engineering, and AI-system evaluation.
• Improve scalability, observability, maintainability, performance, CI/CD, automation, and developer productivity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade applications.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js or Deno, RESTful APIs, service-oriented applications, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Vue.js or comparable frontend frameworks, PostgreSQL, ORM usage, and SQL optimization.
• Experience with automated testing using tools such as Vitest and Playwright.
• Experience deploying cloud-native applications with AWS or Azure, plus Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Git-based workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and software architecture skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare software, medical imaging, regulated environments, or high-throughput image and streaming systems.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging systems, caching, load balancing, API gateways, and performance optimization.
• Experience with observability, infrastructure as code, database optimization, and distributed tracing.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to architecture reviews and engineering standards.
