Engineering Operations Lead (AI)

Location: Spain, remote; engineering leadership works across European and US hours.

Salary: €8,200–€8,300 gross per month

What you will do

• Run the engineering leadership cadence, including director-level syncs, agendas, documented decisions, and follow-through.
• Own the quarterly OKR and QBR cycle, maintaining objectives, checkpoints, reviews, and escalation of slippage.
• Track leadership decisions, commitments, stalled initiatives, and ownerless cross-team work through to closure.
• Coordinate special projects such as organizational models, data-team setup, security consulting, AI-agent programs, technical audits, and tool pilots, then hand them off to permanent owners.
• Prepare concise, decision-ready materials for the CTO, executive team, and board-level audiences.
• Standardize planning, tracking, communication, procurement, pilot contracts, and engineering tool budgeting across the organization.

Requirements

• Senior leadership experience in engineering operations, TPM leadership, or a comparable role running the operating system of an engineering organization.
• Experience coordinating ambiguous, multi-team initiatives through influence without direct authority.
• Experience producing concise executive-level synthesis from complex information.
• Strong operating discipline, follow-up management, and ability to build durable planning and communication systems.
• Technical fluency sufficient to work effectively with engineers, engineering managers, and directors without acting as the technical authority.
• Fluent English at C1+ level and fluent Russian for internal and external technical communications.

Nice to have

• Previous Chief of Staff, Engineering Operations, or TPM-lead experience reporting to engineering leadership.
• Experience improving efficiency in engineering organizations of 100+ people using automation and AI tooling.
• Procurement, vendor contracting, or budgeting experience.
• Nonprofit technology or payments-domain experience.
• Familiarity with Node.js, NestJS, React, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Kafka, Cloudflare, PCI DSS 4.0.1, SOC 2 Type II, or ISO 27001.
