Localization Specialist, German (Gaming)

hirify.global is expanding its in-house Global Localization team to improve linguistic quality and cultural authenticity across its game portfolio.

What you will do

• Translate and edit in-game text, UI strings, and basic marketing content from English into natural German.
• Apply style guides, glossaries, and tone-of-voice documentation to maintain linguistic consistency.
• Collaborate with senior linguists and QA to review linguistic bugs, clarify issues, and support resolutions.
• Verify terminology, update language resources, and participate in localization test passes.
• Track assignments and update documentation in XLOC, Confluence, Jira, and related tools.
• Attend localization syncs and suggest improvements to documentation and task instructions.

Requirements

• Native-level German fluency with strong grammar and written communication.
• Fluent English for reading, communication, and collaboration.
• Experience in translation, linguistic QA, localization coursework, or a related academic field.
• Interest in gaming, cross-cultural communication, and in-language content quality.
• Basic organizational skills and the ability to follow guidelines and meet deadlines.
• A bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation, media, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with localization workflows or content management tools.
• Experience with XLOC, Confluence, Jira, or similar tools.
