Senior Software Engineer (Python/Terraform)

Location: London or Southampton, United Kingdom; hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely each week

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable Python automation frameworks for consistent deployments across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build Terraform code-generation platforms with Python and Jinja2 using reusable, validated infrastructure templates.
• Develop and maintain Puppet modules, manifests, and Hiera configurations for Linux and Windows environments.
• Create PowerShell automation for Windows Server management, Active Directory administration, and hybrid cloud integrations.
• Develop internal automation tools, command-line utilities, and APIs for operational self-service.
• Integrate infrastructure automation with CI/CD pipelines and implement unit, linting, and integration testing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Python development experience with structured, testable application code.
• Strong experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, module design, state management, and programmatic HCL generation.
• Hands-on Puppet experience, including manifests, modules, Hiera, node classification, and automated module testing.
• Proficiency in PowerShell for Windows Server administration, reusable modules, Active Directory, and hybrid cloud automation.
• Solid AWS experience with services including EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with pytest, CI/CD platforms, Linux, and Windows Server in production environments.
