Senior DevOps/Systems Engineer (AWS)

Location: Fully remote, with an office in Dundee, Scotland. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Salary: £65,000–£75,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

hirify.global is recruiting for a market-leading organisation investing in its in-house technology and infrastructure teams.

What you will do

• Manage and improve production AWS infrastructure, including EC2, load balancers, VPCs, and related networking services.
• Maintain Linux systems and production services including nginx, Apache, Redis, MariaDB/RDS, PostgreSQL, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Manage and optimise CDN and WAF solutions using Akamai and Cloudflare.
• Maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible and improve CI/CD pipelines with Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Monitor infrastructure with Zabbix, CloudWatch, Pingdom, and New Relic.
• Investigate incidents, automate operational tasks, implement root-cause improvements, and participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call rota.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in DevOps, systems engineering, or system administration.
• Strong production Linux administration and AWS experience, including EC2, load balancers, VPC, and cloud architecture.
• Hands-on experience with nginx, Apache, Redis, MariaDB/RDS, PostgreSQL, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Strong Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience, plus Python and Bash automation skills.
• Experience with CDN/WAF solutions, particularly Akamai, CI/CD pipelines, and production incident management.
• Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call rota.
