Senior Software Engineer, WebApp (AI)

Location: Canada; remote-first role with many positions also available internationally.

What you will do

• Build and maintain full-stack web application features and scalable distributed microservices.
• Own complex features from technical design through production deployment while meeting performance and reliability standards.
• Shape the technical strategy for the core web application stack, including performance and accuracy improvements for high-throughput traffic.
• Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot production incidents, and maintain high service-level agreements.
• Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Design, and API partners while mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, container-based software distribution, and observability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Experience building and maintaining highly available, scalable web applications.
• Proficiency with full-stack and distributed-systems technologies such as React, Python, Go, Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, plus a BSc in a STEM field, preferably computer science or software engineering.
