Civil/Structural Construction Field Engineer

What you will do

• Support brownfield facility rehabilitation, modernization, and installation of infrastructure for advanced manufacturing operations.
• Drive construction schedule execution with the Superintendent, track installed quantities, and support look-ahead and recovery planning.
• Review structural and civil RFIs, shop drawings, mix designs, anchor systems, equipment foundation requirements, and other technical submittals.
• Coordinate discrepancies between design documents, existing conditions, geotechnical information, surveys, and equipment vendor requirements.
• Verify construction quality, inspections, testing, documentation, and corrective actions for structural and civil work.
• Monitor safety documentation and approvals, including excavation permits, lift plans, hot-work permits, demolition plans, and fall-protection planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; significant equivalent industrial construction experience may be considered.
• 3–5+ years of structural or civil construction experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing facilities.
• Experience with concrete foundations, structural modifications, reinforcing steel, structural steel, earthwork, and civil construction methods.
• Ability to interpret structural and civil drawings, geotechnical reports, specifications, shop drawings, and equipment foundation requirements.
• Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, technical documentation, installed quantities, quality-control records, inspections, and testing.
• Must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of industrial or manufacturing construction experience.
• Experience modernizing large-scale brownfield manufacturing facilities and modifying foundations or thick reinforced concrete slabs in existing facilities.
• Experience with GPR, concrete demolition, excavation, subgrade preparation, equipment anchorage, crane runway structures, and overhead bridge cranes.
• Experience with building envelope rehabilitation, underground utilities, geotechnical coordination, and third-party testing agencies.
• Experience supporting defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, automotive, heavy manufacturing, or similarly complex industrial facilities.
