Structural Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

What you will do

• Develop and implement structural engineering project deliverables under the guidance of an assigned mentor.
• Analyze building materials and design load-bearing structures, equipment supports, and foundations.
• Perform structural analysis for gravity, wind, and seismic load conditions.
• Prepare structural calculations, reports, and details in accordance with client, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Lay out structural systems, conduct field investigations, and coordinate designs with other disciplines.
• Collaborate with project leads, vendors, clients, contractors, and internal team members.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders.
• Interest in the food and beverage or life sciences industry.
• Eagerness to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects.

Nice to have

• Progress toward or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination and registration.
• Familiarity with computer-aided drafting, process modeling, calculation, and other engineering software.
• Familiarity with AEC industry regulations and standards.
• Prior structural engineering internship or co-op experience.
