Design Specialist (Interior Design)

Location: FL - Sarasota University Town Center; onsite retail role with in-home consultations and off-site trade-client meetings as needed

Salary: $20 per hour base with uncapped commission on shipped items, plus a performance-based bonus plan

What you will do

• Deliver personalized design consultations and recommend products, space plans, and styling solutions.
• Drive sales and achieve revenue, conversion, and client-retention goals.
• Build relationships with clients, trade professionals, and the local design community.
• Manage the full client lifecycle using CRM tools and outreach strategies.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and contribute to the store’s aesthetic.
• Conduct in-home consultations and attend off-site meetings with trade clients as needed.

Requirements

• Design-savvy sales professional with a passion for modern interiors.
• Experience in retail sales, design consulting, or customer success preferred.
• Background in interior design, architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Strong client needs assessment, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and design tools such as SketchUp or AutoCAD.
• Ability to lift over 40 lbs and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; weekend and holiday availability is required.
