AI Enablement Architect (AI)

Location: Ideally Melbourne-based; Canberra may be considered for candidates willing to travel. Australian citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Lead architecture, planning, and solution design for a strategic AI enablement initiative.
• Define target architecture, application design, and infrastructure bills of materials for secure and resilient solutions.
• Translate operational requirements into practical AI-enabled outcomes with stakeholders, engineers, and technical specialists.
• Provide technical leadership across design, build, integration, assurance, and deployment.
• Shape AI capabilities for complex, mission-critical Mission Systems environments.

Requirements

• Australian citizenship and a minimum NV1 security clearance are required; willingness and ability to obtain and maintain NV2 clearance is required.
• Experience as a Solution, Systems, Platform, or Enterprise Architect in complex technology environments.
• Experience designing and implementing AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions, including AI governance, assurance, and responsible AI practices.
• Ability to develop secure, scalable, and operationally ready solution architectures, technical roadmaps, and infrastructure designs.
• Experience with cloud platforms, application architecture, systems integration, data ecosystems, and cybersecurity.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through design, build, integration, and deployment activities.

Nice to have

• Defence, national security, intelligence, secure, regulated, or classified-environment experience.
• Knowledge of MLOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge services, intelligent search, or related AI technologies.
• Experience supporting technology transformation initiatives through operational handover.
