Senior Counsel - Finance

Location: Phoenix, AZ (CityScape)

Salary: $207,000–$256,000 annually for new hires in San Diego, CA; amount varies by specific job location. Annual bonus or incentives and restricted stock may also be available.

What you will do

• Provide legal advice on commercial lending, credit matters, and bilateral and syndicated loan transactions.
• Structure, conduct diligence, draft, and negotiate transaction documentation for real and personal property-secured lending.
• Advise business lines and support functions on legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Develop and administer credit and lending policies, procedures, and quality-control programs.
• Partner on business transactions, operational matters, strategic initiatives, and product support.
• Manage outside counsel and legal resources, conduct legal research, and oversee assigned staff when applicable.

Requirements

• 5+ years of related legal experience.
• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of commercial finance transactions, including structuring, origination, workouts, and enforcement.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of secured transactions, Uniform Commercial Code Articles 9 and 12, and real property law.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory compliance obligations, industry standards, and practices.
• Expert speaking and writing communication skills, plus intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.

• Experience across commercial real estate, C&I, ABL, public finance, warehouse lending, technology, bioscience, healthcare, agriculture, resort finance, or equipment finance.
