What you will do
- Develop, mature, and operate Portable Life Support System hardware for the Axiom Extravehicular Activity spacesuit.
- Design and iterate single-suit architectures for microgravity and partial-gravity mission environments.
- Support life support architecture, requirements management, system certification, and engineering standards.
- Plan and execute verification, validation, testing, manufacturing, assembly, delivery, and on-orbit operations.
- Analyze performance data, recommend improvements, and communicate project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders and leadership.
- Coordinate work tasks, schedules, budgets, test plans, customer deliverables, and cross-functional interfaces.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in life support engineering or a similar role, plus 1+ year of people leadership experience.
- Experience building, testing, or assembling hardware and familiarity with flight hardware development and certification.
- Understanding of space environments, including grounding and bonding, thermal conditions, vacuum, and regolith.
- Knowledge of NASA or commercial space program standards and experience defining engineering standards, processes, and practices.
- Must complete a U.S. government background investigation and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.
