TL;DR
IT System Reliability Engineer (Microsoft Azure): Administering and optimizing enterprise Azure cloud infrastructure, including identity, networking, security, monitoring, automation, and disaster recovery, with an accent on platform reliability, governance, and cost efficiency. Focus on designing resilient cloud systems, automating infrastructure deployments with PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, ARM Templates, and Terraform, and resolving complex availability and security issues.

Location: Mississauga, Canada; hybrid work with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week

Salary: CAD 79,956–127,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

  • Administer Azure subscriptions, management groups, resource groups, compute, storage, databases, backup, and recovery services.
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID, users, groups, application registrations, service principals, RBAC, Conditional Access, MFA, and PIM.
  • Implement Azure security, governance, policies, vulnerability remediation, compliance controls, and incident response support.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, load balancers, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, and DNS.
  • Monitor platform health with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights; respond to incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Automate infrastructure with PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, ARM Templates, and Terraform while supporting CI/CD, cost optimization, documentation, and cloud modernization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of Azure administration experience and 5 years of infrastructure administration experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises integrations, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, firewalls, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure networking and security services, PowerShell, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, infrastructure as code, and ITIL processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Clearance (PERC) eligibility.

Nice to have

  • Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer, Azure Network Engineer, or Azure Solutions Architect certifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Terraform, DevOps pipelines, Azure Landing Zones, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel SIEM, Kubernetes/AKS, VMware, AWS, Linux, Cisco UCS, or PKI.
