Software Engineer, Networking (Edge)

Salary: $163,000–$226,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, evaluate, and document networking features, connectivity solutions, and open-source client dataplane code.
• Develop and operate hirify.global’s Funnel and DERP relay infrastructure and associated network protocols.
• Improve the scalability, availability, performance, reliability, and security of hosted networking services.
• Investigate and resolve complex escalated networking issues across diverse technical environments.
• Maintain live services through observability, incident management, technical support escalations, and automation.
• Collaborate with engineering and product groups to advance hosted services and client capabilities.

Requirements

• Professional experience developing and troubleshooting networking software.
• Strong knowledge of VPNs, NAT traversal, routing, and IP addressing.
• Experience with distributed systems, global-scale services, SRE, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Go is highly desired; most systems are developed in Go.
• Strong written and verbal communication, constructive collaboration, autonomy, and comfort working asynchronously.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced startup environment.
