Technical Lead Manager (AI)

Location: Remote within hirify.global’s states of operation in the United States; local or 100% remote work is supported. In-person work is available at the Palo Alto, California headquarters.

Annual base salary: $187,150–$206,850 for Tier 3 US metro areas; $201,400–$222,600 for Tier 2 locations; $234,650–$259,350 for Tier 1 locations.

What you will do

• Define the AI technical strategy and roadmap for customer experiences across voice, email, chat, and SMS agents.
• Design reliable, observable, real-time agent architectures with orchestration, tool use, guardrails, and fallback handling.
• Write code, review pull requests, prototype agent capabilities, and debug production issues.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and CX to identify and ship AI-enabled workflow improvements.
• Establish agent performance metrics and use data to prioritize roadmap investments.
• Lead, hire, mentor, and develop a small senior engineering team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems, including 2+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
• Proven experience shipping LLM-powered, conversational AI, or agentic systems in real-world environments.
• Experience delivering customer-facing products end-to-end, from design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Strong systems design and technical leadership skills, including architecture decisions, trade-off evaluation, and reliable service design.
• Hands-on experience with LLM and agent development, prompt engineering, RAG, tool usage, and orchestration frameworks.
• Must reside in one of hirify.global’s states of operation in the United States. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with telephony, messaging APIs, or chat platforms at scale.
• Experience with AI/ML evaluation, quality instrumentation, drift detection, and observability.
• Experience evaluating third-party vendors and making build-versus-buy decisions.
